Conscious Game Changers
Navigating Stability and Creativity
Follow Up from The Eighth Transformation Workshop
In our eighth transformation workshop together we explored the relationship between Stability and Creativity which, when worked with consciously, enables us to shake things up, built on a solid foundation of inner authority, whilst honouring what has gone before.
Building on what you discussed in the workshop please continue to notice and simultaneously ‘feel into’ the JUDGE or OUTSIDER as either arises in you.
Notice the sensations in your body, any contractions or tensions or any patterns in your posture as either arise.
Allow yourself to be with what arises, compassionately relating to yourself with curiosity and notice any tendencies to rationalise or justify your reactions.
Then make conscious choices about what you want to shift and what new capabilities you need to build to do that. You may also want to practice with some of the suggestions e.g. honour and uphold etc. See the pdf of slides here.
Please appreciate that an over identification with the Stabilise function ie. JUDGE is designed into our current organisations, so shifting this is a process, which takes time. Consider what might open up for you as you further unlock this area.
In our next workshop in the New Year we will delve further into the Creative function.
FOCUS and PREPARATION FOR
OUR 1.5 MEETING
How we pay attention
Below you will find two links, one to a 20min video and one to a more recent 75min video by Dr Iain McGilchrist. In time please view both but if you’re short on time please view the 20min one before we meet again.
This is intended as stimulus to keep you focused on what you KNOW to be true, even if it is not immediately quantifiable or measurable – in the context of ‘What is yours to do’ and to provide fuel for your journey. You will see much resonance between this work and the thinking behind Conscious Game Changers.
Dr Ian McGilchrist is a former Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford, an associate Fellow of Green Templeton College, Oxford, a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Consultant Emeritus of the Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital, London, and a former research Fellow in Neuroimaging at Johns Hopkins University Medical School, Baltimore.

Optional
In our 1.5 session, let’s discuss the implications of his research on ‘What is yours to do’ and how the culturally ingrained over-reliance on the left hemisphere effects your work.
I sit listening as the wind asks its eternal questions:
What will our generation of women pass on to our daughters?
What will be our legacy to the daughters of our great-granddaughters?
And the earth sings her response:
Offer yourself...
...yourself.
